You cannot renew a Learners’ Driver Licence. You have to take the computer knowledge test again, and that passing grade is only good for 2 years.

For students unsure of the number of hours necessary  to become a confident driver, we suggest a one hour driving assessment with an instructor. Our experienced instructors will evaluate your level of expertise and recommend an adequate number of hours accordingly. We also welcome you to call in to our centre where our friendly staff may suggest the perfect package according to your driving experience.

At Fraser Driving School we aim to prepare our students so that they may be confident and safe defensive drivers on the road. Our experienced instructors will work with you to enhance and correct your driving skills. The following list is of specific skills our programs reinforce:

  • Pre-trip check
  • Two and three point turns
  • Steering and wheel control
  • Maintaining speed control
  • Changing lanes safely
  • Becoming confident at large intersections
  • Stall parking (driving forward and backing up)

No, you cannot. As a learner, you must be accompanied by a supervisor 25 years or older with a class five B.C. drivers licence or with a professional driving school instructor.

Yes, you can. The only restrictions for the novice drivers are the following:

  • Display the letter N on the back of your car.
  • 0 alcohol blood level.
  • May carry only one passenger unless the other passengers are immediate family members or there is a supervisor 25 years or older with a valid B.C. class 5 driver’s licence.

Transferable licences may be accepted from the following countries: Austria, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Guernsey Isle of Man Jersey, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and United States. If your international full licence (with proof of a minimum of two years driving experience) is from a non-reciprocal exchange country you must take a Knowledge and Road Test with ICBC. A Class 4 Unrestricted Driver’s Licence will allow you to operate Buses with a Maximum Seating Capacity of 25 Persons (Including the drivers of school buses, Special Activity Buses, and Special Vehicles used to transport people with disabilities), Taxis and Limousines, Ambulances, and Any Motor Vehicle or Combination of Vehicles in Class 5.

A Class 4 Restricted Driver’s Licence will allow you to operate Taxis and Limousines (up to 10 Persons including the driver), Ambulances, Special Vehicles with a seating capacity of not more than 10 persons, and any motor vehicle or combination of Vehicles in Class 5.

You can drive or take driving lessons with your international licence while you have a valid Study Permit and are enrolled in a full time program in a designated educational institution in B.C.

Yes, we offer brush-up lessons in 15-passenger vans for both Class 7N and Class 5 license holders, as long as the lesson is not geared toward obtaining your Class 4 driver’s license. You’re welcome to bring your own extended cargo vehicle for the lesson.
